Welcome to the RoboCup Logistics League (RCLL)

Driving Innovation in Smart Factory Automation

The RoboCup Logistics League (RCLL) is a subleague within RoboCup Industrial, dedicated to advancing the field of in-factory logistics through intelligent robotics. We challenge teams to develop and deploy autonomous mobile robot systems capable of optimizing material and information flow in simulated industrial environments.

Our Mission:

  • To foster research and development in multi-robot systems for industrial applications.
  • To promote the creation of flexible and efficient solutions for modern manufacturing.
  • To provide a platform for benchmarking and evaluating cutting-edge robotics technologies.

The Challenge: Autonomous Production on Demand

In the RCLL, teams design and program up to three autonomous robots to fulfill complex production orders within a simulated factory setting. This involves:

  • Product Assembly: Robots must coordinate their actions to assemble products using a network of production machines based on the Festo MPS-Production System.
  • Dynamic Order Fulfillment: A central agent, the Referee Box, generates randomized product orders with varying configurations and delivery windows, requiring real-time planning and adaptation.
  • Multi-Robot Coordination: Teams must develop effective communication and task allocation strategies to ensure seamless collaboration between robots.
  • Integrated Robotics Systems: Success demands a robust robotics stack, encompassing autonomous navigation, precise object manipulation, and reliable perception.

Key Features:

  • Realistic Industrial Simulation: The league simulates a real-world factory environment, providing a challenging and relevant testbed for robotics research.
  • Collaborative Competition: Two teams share a common factory floor, fostering a competitive yet collaborative environment.
  • Two Competition Tracks:
    • Main Track: The full production scenario, testing the complete range of capabilities.
    • Challenge Track: Focused, individual tasks extracted from the main scenario, enabling teams to showcase specific skills and participate even without a complete system.

Why Participate?

  • Advance Robotics Research: Contribute to the development of intelligent robotics for industrial applications.
  • Test and Refine Your Systems: Evaluate your algorithms and hardware in a challenging and competitive environment.
  • Gain Practical Experience: Apply your knowledge to a real-world problem and develop valuable skills.
  • Network with Experts: Connect with leading researchers, engineers, and industry professionals.
